ABOUT I.C.R.H.A.

Welcome to the Illinois Central Railroad Heritage Association!

Our group, founded in 2007 is an Incorporated, non-affiliated organization that is dedicated to preserving and disseminating the historical record of the Illinois Central Railroad -- The Main Line of Mid-America -- its predecessors and successors including the Chicago, Central and Pacific, Illinois Central Gulf, Paducah & Louisville, Mid-South Railroad / Kansas City Southern, Iowa Pacific, Indiana Railroad, Grenada Railway, Mississippi Central, Natchez Railway and the Canadian National - operated IC lines.

Our association is composed of sincere enthusiasts, who, for many different reasons, have a great interest in the Illinois Central (IC), one of the best railroads to ever exist in our nation. The ICRHA was founded by like-mined individuals who wanted to learn more about the IC in all eras of existence, up to, and including the present. The spin-off and acquired roads, abandoned lines, and the current ownerships of IC former properties all fit into the mix to create an amazing story. We try to share that story through our publication, The Mid-American,  and our web page and will continue to do so.

Join us today as we explore this fascinating history !
